Arturiath was a powerful city located in the centre of Itrandir, that was the capitol of Pure Elf and Ancient Elf society.
History[]
The city of Arturiath was founded by the Ancient Elves at an unknown date early in the Chimeric Era, with the help of the Sea Serpents. The city was originally built around a tower known as Arturiath (Elvish for Heart-Tower) that itself had been built to house an artifact known as the Heart of Eta, a great ruby created by the Elf-Lord Maengal. Many Elves flocked to this artifact and the city was built around it. It was described as this "The walls pulse with a faint red glow and the rooves shine with a bright yellow, as if the sun was at every angle at once. The streets themselves are paved with joint parts crystal and stone and each led to great fountain of which there were many. The towers cast no shadows anywhere, though they stand so tall, and in the centre stands the mightiest tower of them all, in a plaza adorned with a thousand fountains and million crystals, each reflecting a new color onto the tower itself, which stands tall and proud bathed in light. There is no place where the sun does not shine in this city."

The Great Gates[]
The entrance to Arturiath was protected by two great gates made of silver. The gates were described as being 30 feet tall and set in a wall of white marble, with three towers wrought in the shape of large white trees, decorated with leaves of emerald and filled with birds.
The Tower Arturiath[]
The tower of Arturiath was made of white and grey stone and rose 800 feet into the air. It shone with many different colors from the light reflected from the crystals embedded in the plaza.

Destruction[]
When the Great Lands began to sink into the sea, Arturiath was lost and its people fled. There have been many attempts by Pure Elves over the years since to find it and the lands of Itrandir but none have yielded any results.
